OMG this FINALLY opened!!! Last year I went to the Japan Festival and they passed out coupons for 10% off and flyers to the store. I went and they where not opened. Went back several times and they where not opened so after months of going I stopped going. I live in Baytown so I would only go when I was on that side of town. Now that I know it is open I will have to make a special trip. I do so love Biggies Bento Locator. I printed up the locations in Houston and plan to do some shopping next weekend before the ifest, gotta kill time on that side of town :D BTW dont forget April 25/26 is the Japan Festival in Memorial park the FOOOOODDDD YUMMMMY!!!!

Hmmm I think I am confusing myself, I don't normaly do forums, but somewhere on here craftscout posted info on it. Okay so if this repeats sorry. Here is a link to the festival http://www.japan-fest.com/ It was a lot of fun. You could hear the music while walking around but once inside the Japanese Garden it just became peaceful. I love Hermann Park, I work across the street and can look out over it through out the day. I will be honest and say I don't remember all the foods (I am horrible with names) I just normaly point and hand over my ticket. Yes you have to buy tickets then give the tickets to the vendor. So add up what you want first then go buy the tickets.

My fellow Houstonian bento fans, get your bottoms down to FIT! It is AMAZING! It is clean, well organized, friendly, and packed full of bento stuff. It's got Clickety Click, vColor, Happy Balloon, some of the stuff from the Sakura/Clover line popular a year or so ago, the masculine "Modern Bento" stuff Ichiban Kan carries, Disney boxes, and some others I didn't recognize. It has boxes, bags, oshibori, oshibori cases, picks, cups, chopsticks and cases, molds, cooking utensils, disposable bento boxes, and a huge assortment of stuff like you find on Ichiban Kan (many of the same items!). It also has a ceramics department, with plates and bowls and nabe and glasses and cups and . . and . . . and . . .

They are having a special right now, buy ten items, and get a chance at FIT Bingo, where you might get 1-4 additional items for free for each 10 items. Everything is priced $2-$6.

Oh, yeah. I spent waaaay too much. I promised my husband no more bento shopping for several months at least.

But now at least, Boogie Boy is well stocked on lunchboxes for preschool, and DD got a few new things, too. :)

Good! Boogie Boy was being VERY good, but he still kept me on my toes so much I really didn't want to pull out my phone and start taking pics to show everyone. It was bad enough, when I was engrossed in picking out a new pair of chopsticks for myself, one of the staff came over to let me know he was chewing on a tag. I assured him we would be buying it, and he said he just wanted to make sure Boogie Boy didn't get hurt! Sweet young kid!

What time did you go craftscout? I was there around 3 or 4!

Ok I finally have time to upload these pictures! Let me just say that I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS STORE! Everything that craftscout has said is true. Very clean, organized, friendly, lots of bento gear. The store is kinda hidden tho! No wonder I have never seen it, its on the 2nd floor of a parking garage!

Here is the chopsticks section. You can see the sign that says, "Most of our items are $2." The marked ones are $3, $4, or $5

I didn't get much because I just got a lot of bento gear from another store the other day and my husband said "I need to control this addiction" LOL
The Marie bento set is available for swap! It's so cute I just had to buy it!

****MORE pictures of the store at my flickr. Plus notes and bigger views.
