onigiri wrapper help!

Postby bentolunches » Wed Mar 18, 2009 7:04 am

I have purchased some plastic onigiri wrappers - seemed like a good idea at the time! The "easy" to follow directions on the back of the package are not so easy - I can't for the life of me figure out how to use these! Can someone offer up a tip or better yet a tutorial on how to use the wrappers? I know once I see it, it will make sense...thanks!

There are also a lot of directions on youtube. I use it quite often to find video tips. There are some other sites like Ehow too.

I think it's best if your keep your working surface and hands as dry as possible. The seaweed will stick to anything water. Also you should use warm steamy rice so that when it touches the seaweed it is more plyable.

If you are having a hard time shaping it, try putting it inside some plastic wrap and handle it like that :D
I live for my children. I hope I can help contribute. I've got my own blow insulated lunch cooler too.
