Hi everyone!
My name is Laura.
I have just started making bento lunches for my husband since January.
We have an adorable 11 month old baby boy that is half vietnamese, half mexican
I am vietnamese and speak it fluently.
I live in Houston, TX.
I have also lived in parts of North and South Carolina. And in Dallas, TX.
I'm 20 years old, and didn't learn how to cook until last year! Now I love to cook and make Bento!
I have pictures of all my bento on flickr and I just started a bento blog with a couple of cool tutorials so far

My name is Vanessa.
I'm from Houston too! I decided to register after reading Lunch in Box since summer of last year, when I first got into bento.

I love reading and learning new things about bento. I don't make bento nearly as much as I did last fall but I hope to start up again really soon. (it hasn't stopped me from buying stuff though!)
I've lived in Houston all my life and I'm half Taiwanese and half German (some Irish in there too). Although I didn't learn Chinese my mom did take the time to expose me to lots of different foods and culture growing up.
*Misc Lunch Moment* I remember bringing a thermos full of fried rice to elementary school. When it was time for lunch I was eating hot fried rice (while the other kids looked) and they ate their rectangle pizzas. ^_^

I don't have any children yet but Biggie has inspired me to make sure my children will have nutritious and cute bentos!

Hello!

I do wish I knew how to speack chinese. She took me to classes when I was in elementary (speaking and writing) but the classes stopped. I don't remember now why they did. I plan on taking some conversational chinese classes over the summer.
She said when my older brother was growing up, she was speaking Chinese to him. As soon as he started speaking both and Chinese and English she stopped. She didn't want him to get confused when Kindergarten started. (That doesn't happen though) So she never bothered with me.

I live on the Northwest side of town, kind of near Willowbrook Mall. ^_^
