Speed bento: zarusoba and chicken
Made this lunch in a total of 10 minutes — barely had time to snap a quick photo before my husband ran out the door with it! Put everything together while the noodles cooked, and used bottled soba tsuyu. FAST FAST FAST!!!
- soba tsuyu (regular dipping sauce for the zarusoba) — bottled Shirakiku brand for super speed!
- cold buckwheat zarusoba noodles with kizami nori (seaweed) and wasabi to add to the dipping sauce
- mini banana, raspberries and blueberries
- green onions to add to the soba dipping sauce
- roast chicken thighs with fresh bay leaf garnish (picked yesterday!)
All packed in my Nissan Stainless thermal lunch tote to keep the dipping sauce totally contained.

Indian curries
I always fall back to the thermal lunch jars to pack curries that’ll stay warm for hours:

Clockwise from upper left:
- rice pilaf
- chicken tikka masala (missing most of its chicken)
- lamb vindaloo
- vegetable korma
- (not pictured: the last piece of naan)

Red Thai Curry for Two
Made this for my son and I to share while we were out today. Thai curry’s a little hot for him, so I mixed yogurt in to bring the heat level down so we could both eat from the same container (my Nissan Stainless Thermal Lunch Tote).

* Red Thai curry with chicken, eggplant and red peppers (with yogurt)
* Rice
* Fresh pineapple
* Lychee pudding
I packed another one in my smaller Chinese knockoff lunch jar for my husband: just curry and rice, but a nicer photo.

Child bento #1
For my son: chicken tamale, grapes, cheddar cheese fish crackers, and a Babybel cheese. All fit into a little two-tier bento box.
